Penelope Timmis returned to painting seriously 13 years ago. She studied art at the Froebel Institute in Roehampton and in Shrewsbury.
Born in Kingston upon Thames, she has lived the majority of her life on her farm in the hills of South Shropshire. Her work can be seen throughout the UK and is easily recognisable with her free use of line and colour.Penelope gets her inspiration from all that is around her.
With various awards for best and favourite paintings, (including being shortlisted for the Daily Mail Not the turner prize) she is now a member of the SWA ( Society of Women artists ) and a fellow of the RBSA ( Royal Birmingham Society of Artists )
Penelope has only recently begun to exhibit with Ytene Gallery in 2014. Her work will be included in future exhibitions from 2015.
