Jonathan Trim

Jonathan Trim

Landscape is the catalyst for Jonathan's work. Whilst he paints from his studio on the Thames estuary, most of his paintings start on location. He takes much inspiration from the rivers, estuaries and low-lying wetlands of the UK.

Over the years he has developed a deep understanding and relationship with these areas, exploring them thoroughly. His paintings often use textural material gathered on location and incorporated in the work, connecting it directly to his subject. His paintings are about the ever changing qualities of light and the sounds and feelings of existing in these places.
